Caries prevention

Caries prevention – hygiene of oral cavity

Description of Procedure

In order to save the patient’s teeth and gums in healthy condition, patients should attend a dental hygienist regularly, at least 2 times a year.

If a person fails to clean the soft plaque around the teeth, under the influence of saliva it gets mineralized and turns into tartar. Tartar causes different diseases of the surrounding tissues. Over a longer period of time, if the person does not do anything with it, it may lead to removal of gums from some or all teeth, deformations of teeth line, appearance of splits between teeth.

Teeth hygienist removes the soft plaque around the teeth and tartar, polishes teeth with abrasive paste, cleans by a dental floss and applies fluorine and mineral substances containing mask, which:

Caps should be used for application of mineral gel.

NEW. We can offer convenient caps, which may be prepared also in home conditions.
For removal of tartar, special ultra-sound equipment is used. After the procedure,
teeth become whiter, during
the first days they may be sensitive, therefore we recommend to buy special tooth-pastes, which contain
mineral substances. Hygienist provides consultations about whitening of teeth and tooth-pastes.

Whitening and discoloration

Teeth whitening is the fastest method how to get whiter and more brightening teeth. Each person individually receives a recommendation about the tone, up to which whitening can take place.

Discoloration takes more care about teeth, but it is longer as a method. Special tooth-pastes are most often used in this process.

  • Calcium, phosphor, magnesium - these mineral substances are the main components making up theingredients of tooth-pastes and during the whole life period take part in its metabolic system.
  • Bromelain – a ferment, which prevents creation of teeth plaque by making them cleaner, it has an anti-inflammatory and anti-virus effect.
  • Xylitol – stops development of caries causing micro-flora. Does not disturb the teeth enamel. Guarantees protection of teeth against plaque until the next cleaning time.
  • Most often contain fluorine whose effectiveness decreases after the teeth mature.
  • Plaque and pigments are removed thanks to mechanical impact of abrasives.
  • Plaque may appear again already in a couple of hours.
  • Pastes with increased purifying effect usually contain much abrasive substances, therefore they may excessively deteriorate teeth enamel and scratch teeth, fillings and prosthetic surfaces.

Consult your hygienist or dentist about the correct use of tooth-pastes.
